Investment Team
Jamie has 10 years of experience focused on private tech equity investing, from early-stage venture to late-stage growth, encompassing $22 Bn in private capital, $24 Bn in IPO volume and $23 Bn in M&A for portfolio companies. Prior to joining BAM Elevate, Jamie was a Managing Partner at Coatue and a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where his responsibilities included Investing, Fund Management, Portfolio Management, Valuation, Portfolio Servicing, Capital Raising, and Liquidity. He began his career at Morgan Stanley and has a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Marist College.
Kristin brings to BAM Elevate ~20 years of experience building and investing in companies at the intersection of technology and healthcare. Prior to BAM, Kristin was a General Partner at CRV where she led private investments across sectors and stages and was a Partner at Social Capital. As a builder, Kristin was the Chief Commercial Officer at Collective Health and led various functions at Castlight Health from seed through IPO. Kristin began her career at Goldman Sachs in Investment Banking. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College. Kristin is a Lecturer in Management at Stanford and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family.
Esther joined BAM in August 2021. Prior to BAM, she worked at Andreessen Horowitz, focusing her time on private tech investments from seed stage venture to growth. Esther began her career as an investment banker working at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. She received her Bachelor of Science in Finance & Economics from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Prior to BAM, Stephanie worked at TCV and focused on consumer / SMB / PLG companies. Stephanie began her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in NYC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Gaurika has 4 years of investing experience. Prior to joining the BAM Elevate team, she was at SoftBank Group International, focused primarily on global consumer investing. She started her career in Technology Investment Banking at the Royal Bank of Canada. Gaurika holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of British Columbia.
Portfolio Support & Operations Team
Yujin is an Operating Director on the BAM Elevate Team based in San Francisco. He joined BAM in January 2023 from SignalFire, an early stage venture capital fund where he was a Partner focused on managing the firm's network of customers, experts, and advisors. Prior to SignalFire, Yujin was a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz. He earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School, as well as a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University.
Elizabeth joined BAM Elevate in 2022 and leads our Marketing efforts. She has extensive experience in marketing and events within the venture capital industry. Prior to joining BAM Elevate, Elizabeth was Global Director of Marketing & Communications at Next47, and previously led the Marketing Events Team at Andreessen Horowitz, where she was a Partner. She started her career at Stanford University, and ran events and communications for development projects and departments. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with an emphasis in Business and Management from Occidental College.
Spencer Samuels joined BAM in June 2022. Prior to BAM, he worked at Albourne Partners where he was a Hedge Fund Investment Analyst Associate, and prior to that, he was a Portfolio Analyst Intern. Spencer received his Bachelor of Commerce from University of Sydney, Australia. Spencer spent time pursuing a career in professional football in Europe where he played at clubs in England and France.
Paul joined BAM after working at Point72 Asset Management, where he most recently worked in the Chief Investment Office overseeing strategic growth initiatives. He was also a member of the leadership team in Market Intelligence, Point72's research group, focused on data-driven research for investment teams. Before Point72, Paul worked at BlackRock, where he led research and data initiatives for Active Equities and previously worked in the Portfolio Analytics Group. Paul earned his M.S. in Quantitative Management from Duke University and his A.B. from College of the Holy Cross.
Charlie joined BAM Elevate in May 2022 as Head of Data Science. Prior to joining, he was at Google where he was the Data Science Lead for Google Duplex. Charlie also was an instructor at Stanford University teaching Machine Learning for Business with Python. Charlie holds a Bachelors Degree from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, a Masters Degree in Software Engineering from Harvard University and an MBA from Columbia Business School
Nickhil joined BAM Elevate in May 2022 as a Senior Data Scientist. Previously he was the Head of Data Science and Engineering at Theta, where he researched and implemented Bayesian statistical models for customer behavior prediction. He was a Quantitative Developer in ETF market making at Citadel Securities as well. Nickhil holds a BS in Economics (Statistics, Finance) from The Wharton School and a BS in Engineering (Computer Science) through the M&T Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sid joined BAM in May 2022 as a Software Engineer. Previously, he worked within Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division as a Software Engineer. Prior to that, he was a Full-stack Web Development Fellow at Pursuit. He holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences from CUNY New York City College of Technology
Alberto joined BAM in May 2022 as a software engineer. Prior to joining BAM, he was a software engineer at Blend and a data engineer at Facebook. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago.
Dylaan Cornish is a Data Scientist on the BAM Elevate team based in our Chicago office. He joined BAM in January 2023 from the University of Chicago where he earned a Master of Science in Analytics. His research was focused on enhancing privacy in speech recognition using neural networks. Prior to the University of Chicago, he earned a degree in Physics/Astronomy as well as Integrated Science from Northwestern University. He performed astrophysics research for several years, studying high energy gamma-ray bursts using data from NASA’s Swift Space Telescope. He also served on the executive board for Northwestern University Dance Marathon, which helped raise over $1 million to help children in the foster care system.
Evelyn is a data scientist for BAM Elevate in the New York office. She joined BAM in August 2023 after earning her Masters of Science in Data Science from New York University. Prior to assuming this role, she was a data science intern with BAM Elevate and Newell Brands. Her experience also includes working as a market data analyst at Bloomberg, where she covered third party market indices. Evelyn holds a BA in Mathematics from New York University.
Brad is an Associate Director, Strategic Finance and supports BAM Elevate's portfolio companies across finance topics. Brad joined BAM in April 2021 from Boom Supersonic, where he was the VP of Finance. Prior to Boom Supersonic, Brad was an Outsourced CFO/Financial Consultant to multiple businesses. He has also held finance-focused roles with Altitude Digital and Groupon, as well as investment banking roles with Lazard Frères & Co. and Lehman Brothers. He holds a Masters and Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of Iowa.
Maggie Foss is the Executive Assistant for BAM Elevate working in the San Francisco office. She joined BAM as an Office Administrator in July 2021, coming from working at Baxter Construction as their Office Manager. Prior to Baxter Construction, Maggie worked at the Disability Resource Center in San Luis Obispo as a Front Desk Associate and as an Assistant Manager at Pacific Heights Skin Care in San Francisco. Maggie received her Bachelor of Arts in English and minor in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
